I feel your pain and am trying not to laugh because your situation reminds me of a story. When I was in high school, back in 1974 or 1975, a guy dragged a similar 1970 or so Mustang into our auto shop class. I remember it was a sort of washed out green color and believe it had a 428 motor. It didn't look too bad on the outside, but seem to recall it came in on a trailer. The shop teacher looked the car over thoroughly and then told the fellow, "I inspected it and I don't think there is one good part on this car!"
On the other hand, I am sure it makes more sense to restore a 1970 Mustang in 2014 than it did in 1975, so wish you the best of luck! Keep us posted.
